Nanotechnology: The Race is ON!

Science fiction stories of microscopic machines loosed in the bloodstream to repair injury are fast becoming science fact. A 21st-century technological explosion will be fueled by the emerging science of nanotechnology—the manipulation of materials on an atomic or molecular scale. The enormous potential impact of nanotechnology on industry, government, and academia has set off  fast-paced global debate and research. Where do you think nanotech will take us?  Students in this course will explore the history and discuss the practical, fiscal, and social implications of nanotech research and development. Classroom activities will include discussion, research, and hands-on lab experiments.
