It could be you! Have you ever considered a career in the medical field? Doctors figure prominently into the contemporary landscape. From Patch Adams to House to William Carlos Williams, film, television, and literature explore both the comedic and poignant aspects of healing, and reveal our intense interest in the medical profession. In this course, discover for yourself what it really means to be a physician and care for patients. Here’s a hands-on opportunity to learn about the day-to-day workings of a physician, explore the fascinating technological successes that have been achieved by individuals in modern medicine, and see first hand the formidable challenges still facing the field. This is a fast-paced, highly engaging class, where you will get the chance to participate in exciting procedures and treatments, as well as debate the medical-ethical issues encountered today by doctors and society.
